Tuesday, December 6, the 2022 Business. Well Crafted. Award winners were announced! Presented by the City’s Business Development Committee (BDC), the Business. Well Crafted. Awards annually honor businesses, organizations, and entrepreneurs that support and affirm the City of Hickory's vision for economic vitality. “The Business Development Committee is proud to honor these nine award winners for their commitment and support of the City’s vision for economic vitality,” said Brandon Hedrick, chair of the BDC.

The Chamber of Catawba County's 2022 Shop Local Holiday Gift Guide
Attention shoppers! The Chamber of Catawba County has released the 2022 Shop Local Holiday Gift Guide. This guide is a digital, clickable gift guide for the upcoming season, featuring locally owned businesses, shops, restaurants, organizations, and experiences which make Catawba County unique. The Community Appearance Grant program offers matching grants of up to $7,500 or 50 percent of eligible exterior improvement or landscaping costs (whichever is less) to projects in the Urban Revitalization Area. Examples of eligible property improvements include: exterior façade improvements, landscaping, creation of outdoor patios, and other related improvements.
The Community Appearance Grant program is financed by the Hickory City Council and administered by the Community Appearance Commission (CAC). Each grant application will be evaluated by City staff and the CAC for eligibility and merit according to the procedures set forth in the program guidelines. The purpose of the Community Appearance Grant is to: improve the appearance of building façades in the Urban Revitalization Area, encourage improved design and build character in the Urban Revitalization Area, and promote the beautification of Hickory and the importance of the City’s history.
