Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt
Who's ready for an Easter Egg Hunt with a twist?! The Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 8, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Samuel William Davis Field. This event is free for kids ages 3-7. The Glow in the Dark Easter Egg Hunt is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield, Healthy Blue. Skateboard Lessons
For anyone ages 10-15 that is interested in learning how to skateboard, here is your chance! Beginners Skateboard Lessons will be held on Saturday, April 15 and 29, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Stanford Skate Park. These classes will go over board control, balance, and safety. Calling all bird lovers! Join us at Glenn Hilton Park on Friday, April 14, starting at 9 a.m., as we learn about and look for different types of bird species. This class will be led by Jean McAnulty, a certified Master Gardener with the Catawba County Cooperative Extension office, and is offered in partnership with the Hickory Public Library. April is National Autism Awareness Month! This month is about increasing an understanding and acceptance of individuals with autism. To celebrate and bring awareness, we are excited to offer a Fun Walk on Saturday, April 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bruce Meisner Park. We ask that participants wear the color blue in support. On Saturday, May 20, participants will get to make their own stained glass art during this fun and educational workshop. The registration fee of $99 will cover all materials. The class will be held at Highland Recreation Center and taught by Tina Morgan, owner of Morgan Custom Stained Glass in Monroe, N.C. Space is limited.
