City of Hickory Christmas Parade Sponsored by Lowes Foods
An annual holiday favorite that helped earn Hickory the title of America’s Top Tinsel Town! The parade will begin at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, November 18, at the intersection of 4th St NW and 1st Ave NW, go towards City Hall, and exit through Union Square. Hickory Cyclo-Cross Race
The City of Hickory will host the 6th race in the 2022 North Carolina Cyclo-Cross (NCCX) Series at Stanford Park on Sunday, November 6. The first race will begin at 10 a.m., with races taking place throughout the day. Food trucks and vendors will be present, and spectators are welcome. Heads up! Friday, November 11 is a teacher workday. Don’t let the kids sit at home all day when they can join us for a fun trip to Discovery Place in Charlotte! Kids ages 8-12 are invited for a full day of fun and hands on learning. Registration for City of Hickory residents is $25 and non-residents is $30.
Youth will enjoy a morning of supervised fun and activities while parents have the opportunity to Black Friday shop from on Friday, November 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free for ages 8 to 13, but registration is required. Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department and the Hickory Public Library have teamed up to bring you Hickory's newest hiking club! This club is open to hikers of all ages and experience levels. Our next hike will be held on Saturday, November 12, at Riverbend Park at 9 a.m. This hike will also include a Plein Air painting session after the hike. Children under the age of 13 are required to be accompanied by an adult. Participation is free, but registration is required and space is limited. 2023 Motorcoach Tour: New Orleans
City of Hickory Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism Department presents a 6 day, 5 night motorcoach guided tour of New Orleans. The tour includes, but is not limited to: admission to the National World War II Museum, admission to Mardi Gras World, and a relaxing riverboat cruise on the Mississippi River. This trip is open to Senior-adults and anyone that would like to participate. Registration is now open!
