New Sculpture Alert

Swallowtail sculpture in Sally Fox Park 900x500

A new metal sculpture of a butterfly adorns the grounds of Sally Fox Park in Hickory. The public art piece titled “Swallowtail II” was created by North Carolina artist Jim Weitzel and commissioned by the City of Hickory Public Art Commission (PAC) for Hickory’s public art collection.

Youth Volleyball & Lacrosse Registration

Registration is now underway for the City of Hickory's Youth Volleyball and Lacrosse programs. Participation is free to all City of Hickory residents, and nonresidents can also participate by paying a $40 nonresident fee. The Youth Volleyball program is offered to girls ages 9-15, and the Youth Lacrosse program is offered to boys and girls ages 5-14. Sign up for these spring sports by Jan. 15.
