FY2024-2025 Recommended Budget

City Manager Warren Wood delivered his Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-2025 Recommended Budget to the Hickory City Council on May 21. The Recommended Budget totals $144,793,945 for all City operations, capital improvements, and debt service requirements for the upcoming year.

 

The Hickory City Council welcomes public input and will hold a public hearing on the FY2024-2025 Recommended Budget on Tuesday, June 4, at 6 p.m., during its regular City Council meeting at the Julian G. Whitener Municipal Building.

New Finance and Public Utilities Directors Announced

The City of Hickory has hired Kari Dunlap (pictured above left) as its new Finance Director. Dunlap started her new role with the City of Hickory on May 6, taking over as head of the Finance Department as former Finance Officer Melissa Miller transitions into a new position with the City ahead of her planned retirement later this year.

Effective Saturday, June 1, Hickory City Manager Warren Wood promoted Will Hamblin (pictured above right) as the City of Hickory’s new Public Utilities Director. Former Director Shawn Pennell retired on May 31. Hamblin assumed full management and supervisory responsibility for the Public Utilities Department and its related facilities and services.
