In 2024, we hosted 64 tournaments at our recreation centers or parks. These events brought approximately 34,000 visitors to the City of Hickory. Tournament ranged from basketball, soccer, wrestling, softball and baseball, flag football and more. Spring Sports Registration
Registration is now underway for the City of Hickory's Youth Volleyball and Lacrosse programs. Participation is free to all City of Hickory residents, and nonresidents can also participate by paying a $40 nonresident fee. Each participant will also purchase their team jersey at the time of registration.
Online registration for both youth sports programs is available through Jan. 15, 2025, at hickory.recdesk.com.
Have you made a New Year’s resolution to get in better shape? Highland Recreation Center offers a variety of fitness classes, from low impact and total body workouts, to tai chi and yoga. Park Highlight
The Ivey Arboretum at Sally M. Fox Park features public art benches, sculptures, and approximately 250 different species of trees and plants. This 7-acre park is located at 125 3rd Street NE in Hickory.
