Jigsaw Jamboree

The second annual Jigsaw Jamboree is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, beginning at 10 a.m. at Highland Recreation Center. This speed-puzzling competition is designed for all ages, where teams of two or four players compete for prizes in a fun, friendly environment. Build, paint, and decorate your very own bird house on Saturday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Highland Recreation Center. Registration is $10 for City of Hickory residents and $12 for non-residents.

Adults ages 50 and above are invited to the prom! Registration is open for the 50+ Prom Night on Friday, March 20, from 6-9 p.m. at Ridgeview Recreation Center. The entry fee is $10 for couples and $7 for singles.

39th Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt

Bring your Easter baskets to the upcoming 39th Annual Children’s Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 28, at Henry Fork River Park! This year, the event has four separate Easter egg hunts for different age groups, beginning at 6 p.m.:

•    0-2 years old - 6 p.m.
•    3-4 years old - 6:30 p.m.
•    5-6 years old - 7 p.m.
•    7-12 years old - 8:15 p.m.

Unifour Senior Games Registration

Seniors ages 50 and better from Catawba, Burke, Alexander, and Caldwell counties are invited to participate in athletic and arts events, fostering health, wellness, and community. Registration ends on March 17, with all athletic events scheduled between Tuesday, April 7, and Friday, May 22. Families are invited to the annual 1-mile Autism Awareness Fun Walk on Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bruce Meisner Park. Participation is free, but donations are accepted at https://tinyurl.com/autismawarenesswalk. All proceeds will be used to purchase sensory bags for Highland Recreation Center and benefit We Rock the Spectrum of Hickory. For more information, contact Crystal Bruce at cbruce@hickorync.gov.
