Registration is now open for the 2025 Unifour Senior Games. Participants can compete in up to 65 different activities that take place from March through May. All participants who pay the $15 registration fee will receive a t-shirt and an invitation to a welcome lunch at Highland Recreation Center on Tuesday, April 15. Come Chalk Our Walk! This free sidewalk chalk competition is back at Highland Recreation Center on March 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and March 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids and families of all ages are invited to show off their creative talents by creating chalk art for a chance to win prizes. Kids ages 7-11 are invited to a special St. Patrick’s Day Teacher Workday Camp on Monday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. We will begin the day at Foothills Gymnastics, then enjoy an afternoon snack at Udderly Delicious before a mini-golf competition. Abilities Tennis Clinics is partnering with the Greater Hickory Tennis Association to host free tennis clinics to athletes with intellectual disabilities. Players of all skill levels are welcome to participate. Clinics are scheduled for March 29, April 5, and April 19, from 1-3 p.m. at Neill Clark Gym.

Hickory Hikers
Hickory Hikers is returning on Friday, March 14, from 2-3 p.m. for a hike at Valdese Lakeside Park. Open to all ages and experience levels, Hickory Hikers is a program designed to introduce hikers to beautiful hikes in our area. This program is hosted in partnership with the Hickory Public Library. Fairbrook Optimist Dog Park provides 6.7 acres of land for your pups to play and socialize with other dogs. Feturing separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, this park also includes obstacle courses, pet stations, and dog water fountains. While the dogs play, you can relax by the covered shelters and park benches. Fairbrook Optimist Dog Park is located at 1560 4th Avenue SE in Hickory.
