Hickory Hikers Club
The Hickory Hikers are back at it this spring! Our next scheduled hike is Friday, May 10, at 2 p.m., where we will be visiting Valdese Lakeside Park. All ages are welcome.
This year’s Spring Bark Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Join us at Fairbrook Optimist Dog Park for a day filled with fun activities for you and your furry friends!
Beginner Skateboard Lessons
Learn basic skateboarding skills including control, balance, and safety at one of our Beginner Skateboard Lessons designed for kids ages 8-13. Classes take place May 11 at Stanford Skate Park.
Take a trip down to Mountain Creek Park for a Bird Walk and Brunch on Friday, May 24. Learn about the different types of birds who call this park home, and enjoy some delicious brunch before coming home to Hickory.
We’re partnering with Lenoir-Rhyne University for the Summer Track Series. On Thursdays from May 30 through June 22, participants of all ages can compete in a variety of track events at the Lenoir-Rhyne Track.
Not ready to adopt a furry friend of your own? That can’t stop you from creating your own easy-to-care-for pet rock at June’s Pet Rock Workshop! Join us at Highland Recreation Center on Saturday, June 8, at 10 a.m. to create an adorable, lovable “creature” to take home with you.
